Stuart Paterson is a Partner and co-founder of Scottish Equity Partners (SEP). The firm invests in growth stage technology companies across the UK and Europe and Stuart specialises in investments in consumer internet and enterprise software.  He is currently non-executive director of European online eyewear retailer Mister Spex and Berlin based online language learning business Babbel and has been instrumental in building SEP’s presence and reputation in Germany. Stuart also led SEP’s investment in Reykjavík based travel technology business Dohop and sits on the company’s board. Stuart has a strong track record in consumer internet investments having led the original investment in travel search business Skyscanner which was sold in 2016 to leading Chinese travel agency Trip.com for £1.5bn.

Other recent investments include Love Crafts the crafting site for makers, Legal Software as a Service business Peppermint Technology and SportPursuit, the online flash sales retailer for premium outdoor clothing and sports apparel. Stuart also led SEP’s investment in Bluetooth technology specialist CSR plc which subsequently listed on the stock market at a value of over £1 billion, becoming a FTSE 250 company.
