Business Proposition

Ocean Biofuels will grow & harvest sugar kelp seaweed to produce biomethane & eventually bioethanol. The advantages of using brown macroalgae (sugar kelp) are far greater than using other land-based sources. At present there are no other competitors in Scotland. We would be the first. The aim of the business is provide a profitable alternative to fossil fuels and help reduce Co2 emitions. On a global scale this simple natural macroalgae could reverse global warming, and provide an alternative sustainable fuel source. The business is currently working on the design of an all weather autonomous harvesting vessel, able to cut & collect the macroalgae in all weather associated in the North Sea and North Atlantic.
