At the heart of OneHealth  is the belief that human health, animal health and environmental health are intrinsically intertwined and interdependent. To tackle the major issues within these areas, a collaborative approach which considers all three can bring about greater understanding of planetary health and allow progress towards balance in the ecosystem.

The OneHealth sector covers the collaboration of multiple disciplines that work together locally, nationally and globally to achieve optimal health for people, animals and the environment. This approach involves designing and applying programmes, policies, legislation and research whereby various sectors communicate and collaborate in order to improve health outcomes.
