The WORLD’S BIGGEST GREEN IDEAS COMPETITION LAUNCHES OFF FROM ECCI (again) for 2019!!!

The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) is today opening the Climate Launchpad green business competition for applications.

With dedicated support to develop a rock-solid business plan and the chance to win up to €10,000 and a place on the Climate-KIC Accelerator programme, ClimateLaunchpad could be a life-changing opportunity for budding green entrepreneurs.

Climate Launchpad is one of the programmes delivered by ECCI in partnership with ClimateKIC, Europe’s largest climate entrepreneurship programme. ECCI is the official Scottish partner of Climate-KIC, Europe’s largest climate innovation initiative.

Last year ECCI hosted the Global Grand Final of ClimateLaunchpad in Edinburgh for the first time, with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon giving the keynote address and ECCI-supported start-up Crover beat off stiff competition from hundreds of competitors to bag third place, becoming the top performing Scottish team in the competition ever.

The 2 day Bootcamp is fixed for Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th August and the application process is short and simple to complete!

We are looking for:

a) Companies that have a new idea or a young existing idea less than 1 year old

b) An idea / business that has a focus or impact on the world’s environment- in a positive sustainability way!

c) A willingness to learn, compete and represent Scotland against 60+ other countries to find the world’s best idea.

In 2017 UFraction8 www.ufraction8.com from Scotland came 4th out of over 800 applications. Last year the global final hosted here in Edinburgh Crover www.crover.tech from Scotland came 3rd out of over 1,000 applications.
